SSC JE exam is one of the competitive exams to get recruited as a Junior Engineer(Civil, Mechanical, Electrical ) into various organizations, departments under the Government of India.

SSC JE Exam-  Eligibility Criteria

SSC JE Exam has certain requirements that need to be fulfilled by the candidates while applying for the various posts.

SSC JE – Eligibility based on Nationality

  1. Indian Citizenship
  2. Nepal Citizenship
  3. Bhutan Citizenship
  4. Tibetan refugee settled in India before 1st January 1962.
  5. Indian citizen migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India. 

Documents necessary to fulfil the above criteria:

  • Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India for every person other than the 1st category.

 

SSC JE – Eligibility based on Age

 

Candidates need to fulfill the below-mentioned age as on 1st August 2019.

Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Up to 30 years
Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying and Contracts) Up to 27 years
Farakka Barrage Project Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Up to 30 years
Central Water and Power Research Station Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Up to 30 years
Border Road Organization Junior Engineer (Civil) Up to 30 years
National Technical Research Organization (NTRO) Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical) Up to 30 years

Eligibility based on age relaxation:

There are exclusive eligibility criteria for certain categories of candidates where they have a permissible relaxation in the upper age limit.

Eligibility based on Qualification:

CPWD Junior Engineer( Civil, Electrical) Degree or Diploma in  the respective streams from a recognized University/Institution
Department of Posts  Junior Engineer (Civil) Three years Diploma or equivalent in Civil Engineering from an institution recognized by the Central Government or State Government. 

Military Engineering Services

Junior Engineer (Civil)

Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University Or

 (a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and

 (b) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.

Junior Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical)

Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University; 

Or 

(a) Three years diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute or University or Board; and

 (b) Two years experience in Planning, Execution and Maintenance of Electrical or Mechanical Engineering works.

Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) Three years Diploma in Civil engineering from a recognized Institute/ University/ Board or equivalent; or (i) Passed Intermediate examination in Buildings and Quantity Surveying Sub-Division-II of the Institute of Surveyors (India).
Farakka Barrage Project Junior Engineer( Civil, Electrical Mechanical) Diploma in the respective domain from a recognized University or Institute or Board.
Border Roads Organization, Ministry of Defence Junior Engineer (Civil) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute

 Or 

(a) Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute/ Board; and

 (b) Two years of working experience in Planning/ Execution/ Maintenance of Civil Engineering works.

Central Water Power Research Station Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) Diploma in the respective stream from a recognized University
Directorate of Quality Assurance, Naval Junior Engineer( Mechanica, Electrical) Degree in the respective domain from a recognized University; 

Or

 (a) Three years Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University or Institution; and 

(b) Two years of experience in the respective fields.

National Technical Research Organization Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical) Diploma in the respective domain from a recognized University/ Institution.
